Mortise locks include a latch and dead latch pin such that when the lock is in the closed position, the latch extends hence securing the door and the dead latch pin is propelled in. Since this action pins the latch internally, the door cannot be opened by an intruder sliding a plastic card in against the latch. This is the major advantage that mortise locks have over other ordinary locks. We have several models of high quality mortise locks in stock.
